EdTech company TicTac Interactive donated a SEK 100,000 prize to Finch 3D, winner of the Pinc Capital startup competition at the Nordic Female Investor Meetup 2019 in Malmö. TicTac was also a proud sponsor of NFIM, which aims to promote more women entrepreneurs, investors and company owners.
Nordic Female Investor Meetup (NFIM) aims to inspire and support women entrepreneurs and investors as well as encouraging more women to run their own companies, and was held for the fourth time at the startup house Minc, in Malmö, on October 15, with TicTac as one of the sponsors.
Several successful women entrepreneurs, investors and business owners took part in company presentations, panel debates and workshops to discuss how to make it as easy for women to secure venture capital as it is for men, and so increase the number of female business owners.
The Pinc Capital startup competition was also held at NFIM 2019, with a prize of SEK 100,000 for the best pitch. The prize was donated by TicTac as part of the EdTech company’s commitment to promote enterprise and business ownership by women.
Pinc Capital is open to Nordic startups with at least one female founder, and the 2019 Pinc Founder of the Year was won by Finch 3D and co-founder Pamela Wallgren. Malmö-based Finch 3D is developing a digital tool for architects that gives them more flexibility by enabling them to test their designs in different locations and scenarios. The prize was presented by TicTac’s CEO, Carolina Ericson.
“Massive congratulations to Finch 3D and Pamela Wallgren! We need more female entrepreneurs, investors and business owners. Last year, only two percent of all venture capital went to startups founded solely by women, which is far too low. We want to change that, which is why we support NFIM and are proud to donate and present the prize for the Pinc Founder of the Year,” said Carolina Ericson, CEO of TicTac.
In connection with NFIM 2019, Carolina Ericson wrote a discussion article in collaboration with five other business women on how important it is for the future of Swedish business to increase the number of women business owners and give more women access to venture capital.
