Background

Lantmännen is a major agricultural cooperative owned by 19,000 Swedish farmers. It operates in agriculture, machinery, bioenergy and food products, with well-known brands like AXA, Bonjour, Kungsörnen, GoGreen, Gooh, FINN CRISP and Schulstad. With 10,000 employees across more than 20 countries, Lantmännen is committed to improving workplace safety across its diverse operations.

Recognizing the critical need for a safe working environment, Lantmännen set a strategic goal to enhance health and safety across its organization. This required a significant culture shift, supported by comprehensive training to raise awareness and promote safer behaviours.

TicTac was selected to design and implement a blended learning solution, incorporating eLearning and workshops to engage employees and promote safety.

The challenge

Avoidable accidents:
Incidents across various workplaces highlighted the need for improved safety measures and awareness.

Culture change:
Shifting towards a proactive safety culture required engaging employees at all levels, from frontline workers to management.

Consistent training:
Delivering consistent health and safety training across diverse geographic locations and languages was critical for company-wide impact.

The solution

  1. Trailer: A brief introductory video to set the tone and mindset for the training.
  2. eLearning modules: Three interactive modules designed using Articulate Storyline 360, distributed via Lantmännen's LMS.
  3. Strategy module: For all employees, focusing on the company's safety strategy.
  4. Tools and methods module: For all employees, introducing practical tools like the fishbone analysis tool for identifying root causes of accidents.
  5. Leadership module: Targeted at managers, emphasizing their critical role in fostering a safe workplace.
  6. Workshop: A board game-style workshop facilitated group discussions and practical exercises, allowing employees to apply what they learned in a collaborative environment. A digital PowerPoint version was also made available.

The impact

The project launched broadly in the organisation and the feedback from Lantmännen has been highly positive:

Participants have expressed high levels of satisfaction with the training, noting increased awareness and engagement with health and safety initiatives.

Scalable solution:
Since launched, the overall solution has been translated into several languages ensuring that it will be accessible to Lantmännen employees globally.
